Aged Care Plus Celebrates Their 10 Year Anniversary

On 3 October, The Salvation Army Aged Care Plus commemorated 10 years of faithful service to older Australians across New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and Queensland.

Since their official launch in 2007, Aged Care Plus has been led by their Strategic Plan, including their comprehensive property plan to support the increasing need for aged care services in Australia, and in this time, they have expanded their industry leading care to more than 1,700 older Australians annually. Aged Care Plus also launched their Home & Community Care program, giving older Australians the support they need to live independently in their own home.

Chief Executive Officer for Aged Care Plus, Sharon Callister, said it is humbling to reflect on how far we have come over the past decade.

"I feel fortunate to have led and served Aged Care Plus for nine of the past 10 years, and in this time, I have witnessed incredible growth and change," Sharon said.

"I am proud to say that we have continued to adapt and evolve to meet the changing need of older Australians through our award-winning models of care and we have invested in the future of aged care by developing state-of-the-art residential aged care centres and retirement villages," Sharon continued.

Aged Care Plus' industry leading care has been solidified with six Better Practice Awards, awarded by the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency, celebrating their revolutionary models of care including their unique delivery of dementia, mental health and spiritual care.

Beyond their aged care mandate, Aged Care Plus has supported the wider missional work of The Salvation Army, and has raised more than $600,000 for local and global disadvantaged communities through their annual Walkathon fundraising initiative.

"By sharing the love of Jesus, Aged Care Plus has a compassionate heart for people, and we will always be committed to transforming the lives of those less fortunate in any way we can," said Mission, Pastoral & Personnel Director, Major Steven O'Neill.

Aged Care Plus looks forward to another 10 years of success, to be achieved through their commitment to Best Care, Sustainable Growth and Committed Workforce.
