WOW Day Celebrates Volunteers

Rosedurnate Aged Care Plus Centre in Parkes, NSW, were thrilled to welcome the local State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers on 10 May, who were proudly dressed in orange to celebrate Wear Orange Wednesday (WOW).

Residents and staff of Rosedurnate Aged Care Plus Centre also dressed up for the day, showing their appreciation and thanks for the SES volunteers. Administration Assistant, Phillip Snow, has been an SES volunteer for nearly 26 years and says WOW Day is an important day to celebrate and recognise volunteers.

"WOW Day is a time to come together and say thank you to all of the volunteers who go out and freely give their time to the community," Phillip said. Even the newest member of Rosedurnate Aged Care Plus Centre, Elroy, a fluffy Maltese cross Shih Tzu got into the spirit. "Elroy comes in everyday and volunteers. The residents love him! They keep telling me Elroy makes the Centre feel like home," Centre Manager Leona Fisher said. Aged Care Plus is thankful for all volunteers who continuously dedicate their time and resources in making our community a better and safer place to live.
