In this edition, we address how to stay 'bushfire prepared' this summer, as well as some useful tips on how to stay cool in the Summer months. We also provide a Christmas shortbread cookie recipe to make this Christmas season. 


In our Spring edition for 2022, we introduce the new Operations Manager for Salvos Home Care in Victoria and Tasmania. We also share useful information on how to best access and utilise the Salvos Home Care services, and we shine a spotlight on the Burrangiri Aged Care Respite Centre. Our recipe for the season can be made with the support of a Home Care Worker, or they can provide assistance with the shopping.


In our Winter edition for 2022, we share a reminder about falls prevention and also include advice about electric blanket safety. We're also pleased to share a staff spotlight with you, and particularly given their long service with us, and a client spotlight featuring their work with a Men's Shed. Our quarterly recipe for the season can be made with the support of a Home Care Worker if needed, or they can assist with doing the shopping. 


We’re pleased to share that The Salvation Army Aged Care’s National Director has been recognised as a Member (AM) of the Order of Australia and we’ve also included information about re-scheduling home care visits as well as practical tips for remaining active and what to watch out for in terms of a common text messaging scam. National Advance Care Planning Week is an initiative that challenges people to discuss what living well means to them in March every year and we look to celebrating World Cultural Diversity Day and cultural diversity in our communities in May.



In our Spring edition, we have included information about our customer survey results which we are pleased to report exceed those of industry. We also outline some examples of what you can spend your Home Care Package on, and the relevant changes to Home Care Package payments.


In our Winter edition of Home Care in Action, we included cold weather safety and exercise tips for older adults, and information about how our staff members can assist during with services during the colder months. We've shared a warming Winter recipe and a few home care-related changes that have been featured in the news, as well as advice on how to choose a home care provider.
