Residential Aged Care Newsletters

In this edition, we speak with Chef Ambika about this passion for food and his work at James Barker House as well as celebrate Riverview Gardens' 50th anniversary. The resident of Linsell Lodge acknowledge a local mural and we also discuss how to stay cool during the Summer months. Our staff milestones are recognised, too.

In our Spring edition for 2022, we provide some updates from the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, as well as one regarding COVID-19 Winter Dose. We are pleased to share two feature stories in this edition. Macquarie Lodge Aged Care Centre resident, Joyce, shares why it's important to have a sense of humour, and Chef Jason tells us about what it's like to manage the Collaroy Campus kitchens. We've also been "in the news" on Channel 7's Sunrise, and we celebrate the meals made for our residents on special occasions. Our regular Risk Forum and Plan for Continuious Improvement highlights are included in this edition also.

We’re pleased to share news of our staff milestones with you, as The Salvation Army Aged Care’s National Director has been recognised as a Member (AM) of the Order of Australia for ‘significant service to the law, to human rights and to the community,’ and Rohini Prasad, a Care Service Employee, celebrates 30 years of service at Weeroona Aged Care Centre. This Autumn, we have also included two feature stories shared with us directly from with our frontline about the creative ways our residents are keeping connected with each other and their communities, as facilitated by dedicated staff members and volunteers of The Salvation Army Aged Care.

In our Summer edition of Inside Aged Care, we have included a Devotional from The Salvation Army Aged Care's Mission and Chaplaincy Manager and a video with messages from our residents, clients and staff members from across the country. There is information about COVID-19 vaccinations and our Risk Forum and Plan for Continuous Improvement highlights continue to progress. We celebrate two Centre milestones in this edition and spotlight our Catering and Hospitality Manager as well.
