Macquarie Lodge Aged Care Plus Centre Hosts Open Day

Macquarie Lodge Aged Care Plus Centre in Arncliffe opened their doors for a fun-filled Open Day on Saturday 28 October, 2017. The local community joined in on the festivities, and enjoyed local market stalls, delicious food and special performances from traditional Chinese dancers.

Centre Manager for Macquarie Lodge Aged Care Plus Centre, Milly Prokopenko, says the Open Day was a huge success.

"I was so humbled by the incredible support we received from the local community and the families and friends of our residents. The residents loved connecting with members from the local community, and they had such a wonderful day!" Milly said.

The Open Day raised $1,700 through the local market stalls, which will go towards recreational and leisure activities for the residents.

"The residents are looking forward to using the money we raised to buy fun new resources for the Centre!" Milly continued.

One Macquarie Lodge Aged Care Plus Centre resident said, "My family and I had such a wonderful time at the Open Day. We couldn't have wished for better weather to celebrate, and it was so lovely seeing the local community get out and about to enjoy the day with us."

Open Day attendees also enjoyed presentations on the industry leading care delivered at Macquarie Lodge Aged Care Plus Centre and through Aged Care Plus' Home & Community Care program which supports older Australians to remain independent in their own home. Attendees also took the opportunity to tour the brand new Macquarie Lodge Retirement Village which officially opened on 29 September, 2017.
