On Friday 29 September, a handing-over-of-the-keys ceremony marked the official opening of Macquarie Lodge Retirement Village, a vibrant 54 unit village offering older Australians the opportunity to downsize their home, and upgrade their lifestyle.

The ceremony, which was officiated by The Salvation Army's National Commander, Commissioner Floyd Tidd and National President for Women's Ministries, Commissioner Tracey Tidd, saw performances by Sydney Salvation Brass, the unveiling of the plaque and concluded with a tour of the brand new Retirement Village.

Chief Executive Officer for Aged Care Plus, Sharon Callister, addressed the guests, and said the development of Macquarie Lodge Retirement Village is a tangible example of Aged Care Plus' commitment to providing quality services that support older Australians.

"In 2015, Aged Care Plus responded to the need for quality retirement living options in Arncliffe, and began construction on Macquarie Lodge Retirement Village. Fast forward to 2017, and it is humbling to see our works come to fruition and transform into a home for older Australians," Sharon said.

Executive Manager Capital Projects and Property Management, Steven Ball, said Macquarie Lodge Retirement Village supports the growing demand for retirement living services in Australia.

"Macquarie Lodge Retirement Village is a significant investment by Aged Care Plus, and forms part of our comprehensive property plan to provide state of the art living environments for older Australians to enjoy," Steven said.

Located next to Macquarie Lodge Aged Care Plus Centre, Macquarie Lodge Retirement Village has a selection of one, two and three bedroom architecturally designed apartments and offers older Australians vibrant living spaces and refreshed outdoor areas, with convenient access to transport.
