So far, Karen has accessed a range of services through her Home Care Package including podiatry care, massage therapy, and physiotherapy treatment for a pinched nerve in her neck and shoulders. Karen has also found that the Salvos Home Care has assisted her greatly with daily tasks including cleaning and help around the home.  

“I get my cleaning done once a week, by a fine young man and he does a wonderful job,” she explains. “He’s here for two hours, once a week to once a fortnight. I have my ironing done once a month and I’m so thrilled with their services. Then, recently, I had the windows cleaned; they come twice a year or once a year for a bit of a spring clean. I’m so impressed with what they did.” 

For Karen, this extra assistance brings peace of mind and makes life easier, so that she can focus more on things that she values, such as socialising with friends. “We have a lot of people coming to our house here and there, and we’ve cut down a bit because of my health, so the cleaning was very important thing for me, because having people in and out, you like to having things comfortable and so, with that, I feel at ease,” she states.
