Woodport Retirement Village Celebrates 25 years

Erina community flocked to Woodport Retirement Village to celebrate 25th anniversary.

25 years ago, Janice Carter watched on excitedly as the Woodport Retirement Village opened its doors for the first time. On the 24th September 2016, Janice celebrated the 25th anniversary of her much loved home with the Erina community. Janice has been a resident since 1991 and is proud to have been part of the community throughout this time.

"I'm so lucky to live in such a wonderful environment and to always be greeted by smiling faces," Janice said.

The 25th anniversary celebrations kicked off with endless amounts of giveaways, garden demonstrations and local stalls that were enjoyed by over 100 Erina community members that attended. Janice also indulged in a cheeky slice of cake with her fellow residents and other community members who joined in the fun.

"My favourite part of the day was watching the performance from the Sydney Salvation Brass Band," Janice said.

The celebration was a great chance to thank everyone who had been involved in the past 25 years of the Village, maintaining a comfortable and caring environment. This event also saw the local community interact with residents such as Janice who has been part of the community since Woodport Retirement Village opened its doors in 1991.

Woodport Retirement Village Manager, Sue Frost, said the residents and the community enjoyed the festivities.

"It was so lovely and so important to see residents such as Janice celebrate this milestone with the community," Sue said.
