Welcome

Bethany Aged Care Centre offers a supportive lifestyle and community in a homely setting, where residents and staff are like family. Located in the charming coastal town of Port Macquarie, the Centre is close to bushland, the beach and Lake Cathie, whilst being a stroll away from public transport, the town centre and local services. You can also enjoy views of bushland, the coast and wildlife right from the Centre.

We value our relationships with you, and your family, friends and supporters, and encourage them to be an active part of our community. Our dedicated family area allows families to spend quality time and celebrate special occasions with their loved ones.

As you wonder through the wide hallways, you can see fish tanks and residents' art decorating the walls, as well as other homely decor. We have our own onsite goodies store that is operated by both residents and our Lifestyle team. Outside, we have a secret garden with murals and a water feature.

We have strong ties and work closely with the local community and over time, we have built a strong reputation as an organisation that genuinely cares for others in need without discrimination.

Our Services

Bethany Aged Care Centre provides 24-hour residential aged care in a supportive environment. Our services include permanent care, short-term respite care and palliative care.

You are in good hands with a dedicated team that provides compassionate, personalised care tailored to your individual needs, preferences and goals.

Our approach is to not only support your physical health, but also your emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing, so you can continue to live with dignity, purpose and connection.

Each staff member has undergone reference and security checks to ensure they are fully qualified, experienced and are passionate about working in the aged care sector. Our staff undergo ongoing training as well to make sure they are up to speed with the latest processes and knowledge. Emotional intelligence and sensitivity to diversity are other key factors that we take into consideration when recruiting staff.

Our home has a range of fully furnished, spacious and affordable single rooms with private and shared ensuites, all with sunny, external views. All rooms have a 24-hour emergency call system for added peace of mind. Other features include:

This is your home, you are most welcome to bring in your own favourite items - photos, mementos and accessories to dress the room to your own taste and preferences. *

*All items must meet the Centre's work, health and safety guidelines.

Meals are cooked daily onsite by a qualified chef in consultation with the dietitian. The menu is regularly rotated to promote choice and take advantage of what is in season. Each meal has a selection of high protein, vegetarian and modified options. We also cater for special dietary and cultural requirements.

Nutrition programs can also be organised as required.

We take fun quite seriously! The Centre has a dedicated Lifestyle team that organises daily activities based on the suggestions of residents through regular resident meetings. These include outings, animal therapy, visiting entertainers, gardening, activity groups, movies in the theatre room and many more. We have close connections with the local schools and volunteer groups, keeping you engaged and active within the community. For those who wish to enjoy some quiet time, there are gardens and lounge rooms, as well as recreational rooms for individual activities.

Weekly exercise programs are arranged in conjunction with our Lifestyle team's recreational activities. We also have an onsite hair salon, Centre bus and billiards table.

Scheduled visits from the local GP and other Allied Health services as needed, including podiatrist, speech therapist, occupational therapist and physiotherapist.

We have a holistic model of care. The Centre Chaplains play an important role in bringing this to life. We also have a chapel onsite. Whatever your beliefs, our Chaplains are here to assist in your spiritual and emotional journey, if you wish - because we don't have clients, only family.

Lifestyle teams have organised window visits and FaceTime chats and helped to keep all residents entertained througout COVID. RNs have always been available to inform us of mum's wellbeing. Reception staff need a medal and all Care staff are so happy and positive leaving residents feeling valued. Chapel has always been a favourite of our mum's and Catering behind the scenes are appreciated always.
