Welcome

Montrose Aged Care Centre provides aged care services and specialist services for men with behavioural and mental health concerns. We can provide care to both those who may need 24-hour care or who are homeless or vulnerable in the community.

There are a range of amenities, home comforts and personalised health and wellbeing programs designed to help maintain residents' holistic wellbeing.

Located just a few minutes from the heart of the Sydney CBD in Balmain, we are close to shops, public transport (ferry and buses) and many health-related services.

Our Services

At Montrose Aged Care Centre, we offer permanent residential care, respite (short-term) care, behavioural and mental health support and palliative care. We also offer eligible residents NDIS services with in-house NDIS support coordination and staff.

Our team go beyond the clinical to cater for the physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of residents. Residents are in good hands with our friendly, compassionate and qualified staff who work to ensure all residents receive the best care.

Each staff member has undergone reference and security checks to ensure they are fully qualified, experienced and are passionate about working in the aged care sector. Our staff undergo ongoing training to ensure they are up to speed with the latest processes and knowledge. Emotional intelligence and sensitivity to diversity are other key factors that we take into consideration when recruiting staff into our Centre community.

Montrose Aged Care Centre offers spacious single bedrooms with private ensuite designed with residents’ comfort and security in mind. Each room has:

  • TV connection available
  • Built-in cupboards
  • Electronically adjustable beds
  • 24-hour emergency call system for added peace of mind
  • Surrounding suburban views

This is your home and you are most welcome to bring in your own favourite items - photos, mementos and accessories - to dress the room to your own taste and preferences. *

*All items must meet the Centre's work, health and safety guidelines.

We offer specialised behavioural and mental health programs, tailored to each person's needs.

Meals are cooked daily onsite by a qualified chef in consultation with the dietitian. The menu is regularly rotated to promote choice and take advantage of what is in season. Each meal has a selection of high protein, vegetarian and modified options. We also cater for special dietary and cultural requirements.

Nutrition programs can also be organised as required.

The Centre has a dedicated Lifestyle team that organises daily activities based on the suggestions of residents via resident meetings including music therapy, regularly visiting entertainers, art therapy and outings. We also offer regular exercise programs including one-on-one gym sessions with our onsite physiotherapist.

Residents can enjoy using our combined theatre and recreational room, gym, lawn bowl green, communal seating areas, expansive outdoor areas and gardens and centre bus.

Scheduled visits from the local GP and other Allied Health services as needed, including physiotherapist, podiatrist, psychiatrist and optometrist.

We have a holistic model of care. The Centre Chaplains play an important role in bringing this to life. We also have a chapel onsite. Whatever your beliefs, our Chaplains are here to assist in your spiritual and emotional journey, if you wish - because we don't have clients, only family.
