Life in Our Centre
Macquarie Lodge Aged Care Centre offers a wide range of single and twin rooms with sunny, external views. All our rooms have a 24-hour emergency call system for added peace of mind.
Residents can get pampered in the hair dressing salon or enjoy some quiet time in the chapel. The green thumbs can help out in the gardens while for the social butterflies we have regular bus tours and community projects with local schools and volunteer groups. Interactive games and fitness activities carefully planned and organised by our Recreational and Care teams are part and parcel of our daily routine.
Our staff and chaplains go beyond the clinical to cater for the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of our residents. We also recognise the importance of family and friends and encourage them to be an active part of our community.
My mother was in Macquarie Lodge Aged Care Centre for five years and my father for two years. They are both in heaven now and, although I miss them greatly, it is a comfort for me to know they were very well-cared for during their last years. Staff members were extremely kind and I felt they really loved my parents. Nothing was ever too much trouble.
Macquarie Lodge Aged Care Centre became like my second home over the seven years and the staff were always lovely to me; something I really appreciated over my innumerable visits. I miss it so much that I still go to chapel services there sometimes! The spiritual support is something which really sets Macquarie Lodge apart from many aged care facilities.
Joan, daughter of resident
The nursing home was incredibly patient with me, noting that many carers have health problems after such upheaval. I was touched by this. The staff were caring and helpful. They got to know their residents. They listened and answered your questions.
The Salvation Army acknowledges the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to them and their cultures; and to elders both past and present.
