Welcome

Elizabeth Jenkins Place Aged Care Centre offers a supportive lifestyle in a comfortable and spacious home. Designed by industry experts, our home embraces a home-like and community setting with the most up to date design principles in aged care.

There are seven separate and interconnected houses, each containing a kitchen, dining room and lounge room. Each house is accessible via the main streetscape, adding to the home and family environment. We take pride in our beautiful landscaped gardens throughout our Centre, which are lovingly maintained by our onsite team. All rooms have large windows with either garden or ocean views. Professionally styled with beach inspired furnishings, each room is lit by plenty of natural light and sits within a house.

Centrally located, our Centre has links to public transport networks, local shops and services, Collaroy Beach and Fishermans beach.

We recognise the importance of family and friends and encourage them to be a part of our community.

Our Services

At Elizabeth Jenkins Place, we offer permanent residential care including dementia care and palliative care; and respite (short-term) care

Residents trust that they are in good hands with our care team of fully qualified and committed individuals who share The Salvation Army's values of integrity, compassion, respect, diversity and collaboration. Feel right at home with our friendly, compassionate and qualified staff and our person-centred model of care.

Each staff member has undergone reference and security checks to ensure they are fully qualified, experienced and are passionate about working in the aged care sector. Our staff undergo ongoing training as well to make sure they are up to speed with the latest processes and knowledge. Emotional intelligence and sensitivity to diversity are other key factors that we take into consideration when recruiting staff into our Centre community.

Our approach to dementia care is led by each resident’s interests, feelings and emotions. We respect the rich lives they have led by tailoring our care based on their personal history in a dedicated dementia-friendly environment.

Environment can have a big impact on the quality of life. The Long Reef wing is specifically designed to meet the needs of residents with severe behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia.

Meals are cooked daily onsite by a qualified chef in consultation with the dietitian. The menu is rotated regularly to promote choice and take advantage of what is in season. Each meal has a selection of high protein, vegetarian and modified options. We also cater for special dietary and cultural requirements.

We take fun quite seriously! The Centre has a dedicated Lifestyle Team that organises daily activities based on the suggestions of residents, including outings, celebrations, trivia, painting, singing, gardening, walks, games, Chapel services and much more.

Dementia wing has it's own activity calendar that can be group based or a one-on-one with care staff, depending on the resident's needs and preferences.

Scheduled visits from the local GP and other Allied Health services as needed, including podiatrist, speech therapist, occupational therapist and dentist.

Daily physiotherapy is available for permanent residents.

We have a holistic model of care. The Centre Chaplains play an important role in bringing this to life. We also have our own Chapel on site. Whatever your beliefs, our Chaplains are here to assist in your spiritual and emotional journey, if you wish - because we don't have clients, only family.

Extra service rooms are available at the Curl Curl house, one of the seven houses that make up our community.
