Welcome

Macquarie Lodge Aged Care Centre offers a caring and supportive lifestyle in a cosy home. Our modern exterior with homely interiors offers a mix of private and communal areas for our residents to enjoy. We also have a recently refurbished outdoor living area, where our residents often partake in outdoor activities, enjoy some quiet time, we sometimes host BBQs and is the perfect setting for family visits.

Conveniently located, the Centre has links to major transport networks, local services and is only 15 minutes away from the Hurstville and Rockdale shopping centres and Brighton Le Sands beach.

We recognise the importance of family and friends and encourage them to be a part of our community. We also work closely with the local community and schools, often having them visit or collaborating on events. Over time, we have built a credible reputation in the community as an organisation that genuinely cares for others in need without discrimination, regardless of their personal circumstances.

Our Services

At Macquarie Lodge Aged Care Centre, we offer permanent residential care including dementia care and palliative care; and respite (short-term) care. We have a renowned dementia care wing and also offer eligible residents in-house NDIS services.

Our staff and Chaplains go beyond the clinical to cater for the physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of our residents. You are sure to feel right at home with our friendly, dedicated and qualified staff and person-centred model of care.

Each staff member has undergone reference and security checks to ensure they are fully qualified, experienced and are passionate about working in the aged care sector. Our staff undergo ongoing training as well to make sure they are up to speed with the latest processes and knowledge. Emotional intelligence and sensitivity to diversity are other key factors that we take into consideration when recruiting staff into our Centre community.

Our approach to dementia care is led by each resident’s interests, feelings and emotions. We respect the rich lives they have led by tailoring our care based on their personal history in a dedicated dementia-friendly environment.

Environment can have a big impact on the quality of life. Our William wing is specifically designed to meet the needs of residents with severe behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia.

We offer a range of spacious single and twin rooms, with natural light and views of our gardens, surrounding suburbia and the Sydney city skyline. Each room has:

  • 24-hour emergency call system
  • Telephone, TV and WiFi connections available
  • Built-in cupboards
  • Air conditioning
  • Electronically adjustable beds

This is your home, you are most welcome to bring in your own favourite items - photos, mementos and accessories to dress the room to your own taste and preferences. *

*All items must meet the Centre's work, health and safety guidelines.

Meals are cooked daily onsite by a qualified chef in consultation with the dietitian. The menu is regularly rotated to promote choice and take advantage of what is in season. Each meal has a selection of high protein, vegetarian and modified options. We also cater for special dietary and cultural requirements.

Nutrition programs can also be organised as required.

We take fun quite seriously! The Centre has a dedicated Lifestyle team that organises daily activities based on the suggestions of residents via resident meetings, including animal therapy, music therapy, art therapy, regular visiting activities, karaoke, armchair travel, gardening, bus trips and community connections with local schools and events. We also organise Tai Chi and a weekly exercise program with a physiotherapist to ensure our residents stay active.

We offer:

  • Centre bus
  • Onsite hairdressing salon
  • Recreational and activities room with interactive games
  • Visitors’ lounge
  • BBQ area
  • Book corners and computer kiosk
  • Visitors’ overnight accommodation

Our dementia wing has its own activity calendar that can be group based or a one-on-one with care staff, depending on our residents' needs and preferences.

Scheduled visits from the local GP and other Allied Health services as needed, including podiatrist, occupational therapist and optometrist.

A mobile dentist also visits every 6 weeks.

We have a holistic model of care. The Centre Chaplains play an important role in bringing this to life. We also have a chapel onsite. Whatever your beliefs, our Chaplains are here to assist in your spiritual and emotional journey, if you wish - because we don't have clients, only family.
