Welcome

Carpenter Court Aged Care Centre is your cosy home by the beach. Accommodating only 42 residents, the Centre offers a caring and supportive lifestyle in a lively setting. Located directly opposite Merewether Beach, our residents can enjoy the fresh open sea breeze and majestic views, whilst also being just 10 minutes away from the Newcastle CBD. Residents enjoy their daily walks, easy access to local cafes, shops and amenities and mingling with other locals who are out and about.

Our Centre is a home, where staff and residents are family. We strive to create a familial atmosphere with a culture of choice and belonging, with respect to the rich lives our residents have led. With our home-style dining area and vibrant lifestyle calendar, we encourage socialisation where in which they can participate as much as they like.

We recognise the importance of family and friends and encourage them to be an active part of our community. We are an integral part of our local community and are well known for both our services and events including our annual fete which helps fund our resident holidays.

Over time we have built a reputation as an organisation that genuinely cares for others in need without discrimination, regardless of their personal circumstances.

Our Services

Holistic care that's all about you. Carpenter Court Aged Care Centre offers 24-hour permanent residential care including memory support, palliative care and behavioural and mental health support; and respite (short-term) care. We also offer eligible residents NDIS services with in-house NDIS support coordination and staff.

We focus on person-centred care and promote a culture of choice, diversity and support where we encourage individuality and create personalised programs for our residents when necessary. This aims to ensure they receive the best possible care for them and that their quality of life is maintained.

Our staff and Chaplain go beyond the clinical to cater for the physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of our residents.

Each staff member has undergone reference and security checks to ensure they are fully qualified, experienced and are passionate about working in the aged care sector. Our staff undergo ongoing training as well to make sure they are up to speed with the latest processes and knowledge. Emotional intelligence and sensitivity to diversity are other key factors that we take into consideration when recruiting staff into our Centre community.

Our rooms have been designed for residents’ comfort, security and sense of belonging. We offer a range of single rooms with private and shared bathrooms; however, all rooms have their own vanity for that extra bit of privacy. Residents also enjoy sunny, external views.

Other features include:

  • 24-hour emergency call system
  • Telephone and TV connections are available
  • Courtyard views
  • Built-in cupboards

We take fun quite seriously! The Centre has a dedicated Lifestyle team that organises daily activities based on the suggestions of residents via resident meetings, including regular outings, animal and music therapy, regular visiting entertainers, celebrations, games, gardening, collaborations and community projects with volunteer groups and many more.

We offer:

We have a holistic model of care. The Centre Chaplains play an important role in bringing this to life. We also have a chapel onsite. Whatever your beliefs, our Chaplains are here to assist in your spiritual and emotional journey, if you wish - because we don't have clients, only family.
